SUMMARY
The Equipment Maintenance Mechanic of Thermal Corporation is responsible for repairing and maintaining the machinery and mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing of Thermal’s products.
ESSENTIAL DUTY AND RESPONSIBILITY include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for the procurement of machine components and supplies from vendors.
- Preventative maintenance of the facility and production equipment.
- Repair manufacturing equipment used in the manufacturing of Thermal’s products.
- Maintain records and documents as required by Thermal’s QMS.
- Work as needed in the manufacturing processes.
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: None
COMPETENCIES
The following competencies are required to perform this position:
- Knowledge of required safety procedures, such as lock-out, tag-out to be followed when servicing equipment and facility maintenance.
- Complete knowledge of how products are manufactured and constructed. Knowledge of the manufacturing sequence and why products are built a certain way.
- Knowledge of manufacturing equipment capabilities and limitations and how the equipment works.
- Knowledge of Thermal’s maintenance software and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of electricity, ohm’s law, wattage formulas, series and parallel circuits.
- Basic knowledge of how Thermal’s products are generally used by the customers.
- Knowledge of how equipment is maintained, maintenance schedules and preventative maintenance task.
- Able to apply the Thermal Quality System (ANNAR and ISO9001) to ensure continual improvement in service and efficiency.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma and completion of position training or 2-year degree in Engineering Technology or 2-years vocational training from an accredited technical school in mechanical or electrical disciplines are required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents written in English such as safety rules and regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic calculating and measuring ability is required including the ability to read length and metered scales, charts and graphs. Ability to use basic algebra.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Excellent written and verbal communication is required.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Ability to work effectively and professionally with customers, vendors and employees.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to learn and use current business software applications is required.
TECHNICAL / MECHANICAL SKILLS: Ability to learn the features, limitations and use of each of Thermal’s product lines and methods for which they are made. Ability to solve problems, make decisions, to learn and apply Thermal’s QMS to ensure continual improvement and customer satisfaction. Ability to use judgment in interpreting and adapting guidelines such as company policies, regulations, work directions, for application to specific cases or problems. Ability to analyze results and recommend changes is required. Ability to meet the required competencies defined above.
